About Us
With the increasing regulations in Pharmacovigilance which are becoming more stringent, the regulatory authorities are facing an increased demand for patient welfare and safety. Companies need to collate all the vital safety information about their products to meet these regulations. On the other hand, regulatory authorities need to be at a standard level of monitoring and data analysis that ensure safe drug delivery.
Vision
To achieve a well-structured Pharmacovigilance center with highly trained personnel that is nationally competent and regionally recognized.
Mission
  • Improve patient care and safety in relation to the use of medicines and all medical and paramedical interventions.
  • Improve public health and safety in relation to the use of medicines.
  • Detect problems related to the use of medicines and communicate the findings in a timely manner.
  • To contribute to the assessment of the risk-benefit profile of medicines, thus encouraging safer and more effective use of medicines.
  • Promote understanding, education and clinical training in Pharmacovigilance and its effective communication to the public.

Objectives
  • Enhance patient care and patient safety in relation to the use of medicines, especially with regard to the prevention of unintended harm from the use of drugs.
  • Improve public health and safety in relation to the use of medicines by the provision of reliable, balanced information resulting in more rational use of drugs.
  • Contribute to the assessment of the risk-benefit profile of medicines, thus encouraging safer and more effective use of medicines and a resolution of the sometimes apparently conflicting interests of public health and individual patient welfare.

Aims
  • Early detection of adverse drug reactions (ADRs).
  • Detection of increased frequency of ADRs.
  • Identification of predictors and possible mechanisms underlying ADRs.
  • Quantitative Estimation of risk/benefit profiles of drugs and dissemination of information needed to improve drug prescribing and regulation.
  • Prevention of preventable ADRs.
  • Encouraging rational and safe use of drugs.
